INFANTS (YOUNGER)
The youngest children in the center are in this room. The children are allowed to follow their own schedule for eating, sleeping and playing. There is a lot of one-on-one time holding each precious child. The center provides a pack ‘n play for the children to nap. There is a variety of toys and activities for the children to do while awake. Some of the activities include baby yoga, learning sign language, reading books, playing with rings and using the jump-a-roo. Your child can have tummy time without worrying about the older infants crawling over them.The room is licensed for 8 children with a ratio of 1:4.
INFANTS (OLDER)
The children in this room are starting to move, crawl and walk. They follow their own schedule for eating, sleeping and playing. This room provides a pack-n-play for nap time. At this important age, your child will be working on motor activities and learning activities to help them develop. The will usually take their first steps in this room. They also like playing with balls and blocks. Your child will also be introduced to table foods. There is also one-on-one time.The room is licensed for 8 children with a ratio of 1:4.


ONES (YOUNGER):
The children in this room are sitting at tables with chairs that are age appropriate. They are participating in circle time with listening to stories, singing songs and doing finger plays. Your child is learning about playing with other children and sharing the toys. They love when the teacher initiates play. Some of their favorite toys are the blocks, puzzles and playing with the baby dolls. They go outside, weather permitting, to a fenced in area just for them. They take naps in a parent-provided sleeping bag.The room is licensed for 8 children with a ratio of 1:4.
ONES (OLDER):
The children in this room are similar to the younger ones but will sit a little longer for stories and learning time. They love to look at picture books or picture cards. They are starting to develop in their vocabulary. Their art projects consist of more independence. The favorite toys are the baby dolls and trains.The room is licensed for 8 children with a ratio of 1:4.


TWOS (YOUNGER):
This room of children are starting to talk, some are learning potty training. During circle time they are learning about the shapes, colors, days of the week, numbers and letters. They will sing simple songs and rhythms. The favorite toys are the dolls, trucks and blocks.This room is licensed for 13 children with a ratio of 1:6.
TWOS (OLDER):
The children in this room are learning to make friends and talking about their friends. Their circle time is very similar to the younger twos. They will sit a little longer for everything. During their free play they are starting to learn to dress baby dolls and playing with the food at the kitchen set.The room is licensed for 15 children with a ratio of 1:8.


PRESCHOOL (YOUNGER):
The children in this room are starting to get independent in being able to perform some tasks. They are starting to make friends and love whatever they are doing at the time. All want to tell you something at the same time. They love starting to dress-up or play with the cars and trucks.The room is licensed for 17 children with a ratio of 1:10.
PRESCHOOL (OLDER):
This room of children are more structured in all that they do and are learning how to write. They can go to an individualized learning centers with small groups of children. The kitchen area is one of their favorites. They are starting to learn how to play board games with friends or a teacher.The room is licensed for 18 children with a ratio of 1:12


SCHOOL AGE:
New Horizons Children’s Center of Superior, LLC offers before and after school care, care during vacation days of school when we are open and summer care. During the before and after school care the child may work on homework if they want. During the full days of care at the center, they will follow a schedule of learning in the morning followed by outside play. After lunch is a quiet time for reading.The room is licensed for 24 with a ratio of 1:17.
INDOOR PLAY SPACE:
The indoor play space is large enough for 18 children. It is used when the weather outside is inclement. We can play with the parachute, play with balls by rolling or throwing them and getting exercise.OUTDOOR PLAY SPACE:
The outdoor play space is large enough for the majority of the center’s children to be outside at once. It offers a great place for the children to learn while playing outside. There is plenty of activities for the children to participate in. Areas include a sand box, large swing set, ride bikes and play houses
